Hello again, everyone! We are excited to share the latest development update for Nomad Drive. This update covers the following key topics.

Update Topics

  • Multiplayer(Co-op) Basics
  • Planting System

Multiplayer(Co-op) Basics

Nomad Drive was initially planned as a single-player game. However, based on the feedback from our community, we decided to shift our focus toward developing a multiplayer(co-op) experience. This decision required us to rework all existing features and mechanics of the game to make them suitable for a multiplayer environment. As the process of adapting the game to a multiplayer infrastructure was both time-consuming and labor-intensive, the development of new mechanics and features had to be paused.

  • Currently, not all of the game’s existing features and mechanics have been fully integrated into the multiplayer system, but we are making swift progress. For this development update, we can only share the new planting mechanic with you. Since the last update, a significant portion of our time has been dedicated to building the foundation of the multiplayer experience. Meanwhile, our work on the art side is continuing at full speed. Below, we've shared a few chill images from our planting system,we hope you enjoy them!
💡
Nomad Drive will be playable both in single-player and co-op modes.

Planting System

In the world of Nomad Drive, you can find seed packets for the following vegetables and fruits, along with a variety of unique planters:

  • Tomato
  • Potato
  • Watermelon
  • Orange
  • Apple

You can plant the seeds you find into planters and care for them regularly. The plants go through a total of 5 distinct growth stages, requiring consistent watering. Once a plant reaches maturity and bears fruit, it can be harvested, and the collected produce can be consumed by the player.

While vegetables can only be harvested once, fruit trees provide a steady supply of fruit with a single planting. This makes growing fruit trees a longer but more effective strategy over time.

Just like with non-harvestable plants, you can place and arrange your planters anywhere inside your campervan, adding a touch of decoration to your space.

Another key aspect of the planting system is the fertilization feature. When the player uses the restroom inside their campervan, a composting mechanism is activated, producing fertilizer. This fertilizer can significantly reduce the growth time of your plants, helping them mature faster.

The variety of fruits you can grow and harvest in the game is limited to these for now, but adding new vegetable and fruit trees based on community requests will be a quick and easy process.

Until the next update, take care and see you soon!
